I’m thankful to have been able to work with a number of elite athletes over the last 11 years. Here are some of their experiences.
Coach Keegan worked with me in 2004 as a student and again in 2006 as a professional.
He was responsible for planning and implementing strength programs, designing and implementing injury prevention programs, analysing training footage, swim coaching, lifting technique analysis, specific game movement analysis. Keegan was truly an all-rounder when it came to physical preparation. The feedback from the players was that he was always able to explain himself well which is half the battle when it comes to coaching elite athletes.
I also worked with Coach Keegan as an athlete where I found him to be the ultimate professional. His attention to detail in his own preparation transferred to his professional work when he came on board as a member of our coaching team.
I’m still implementing some of his ideas in my training.

After my first initial meeting with Coach Keegan. I left feeling excited to learn about all the different techniques I can use to get the most out of my body for the rest of my swimming career. My diet is something that I’ve realised I can change to manage injuries and help with recovery from training. My body needs to be functioning at it’s optimum level so that I can compete with the world’s best athletes at the highest level. I am looking forward to working with Coach Keegan so he can help me towards my goals.

Keegan Smith will become a pioneer in the field of strength, conditioning and nutrition that I have no doubt about. All great coaches push boundaries to find the truth and Keegan does this with great enthusiasm and intelligence.

Training with Coach Keegan was the biggest eye opener for me as a young kid. I always wanted to become the best I could and watching Coach Keegan train showed me how much I had to train and how much to sacrifice to become the best I can. He took me under his wing before he took off to travel the world and taught me the steps I had to change to get where I am today.

After a year dominated by illness and injury, getting in touch with Coach Keegan was one of the best decisions I have made on both professional and personal levels. Guiding all aspects of my health, working with Coach Keegan has changed my mental and physical outlooks on not only being a professional athlete but on living a healthy, full, life. He understands the demands of what I, as a professional ironman put on my body and has unlimited knowledge of ways my diet and mental attitude can aid me rather than destroy me. Helping me change both of these has given me complete fulfilment in my attitude towards racing and living each day to its fullest. Now, I sit here preparing for a new season of racing and I can say with complete thanks and recognition of Keegan’s work that I feel more ready than ever, more eager than ever, and happier than ever. Thanks to Keegan I now have an understanding of how good our bodies were designed to feel.
Thank you Keegan for opening my eyes to a new level of health and performance.

He’s got me through this season and I’ve never felt stronger. I normally don’t do weights, but the program he has set for me has been great. Keegan is great.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience working with Keegan. His knowledge and advice regarding strength training, speed training and nutrition has been the best and most comprehensive I have ever encountered in my professional sporting career… [showhide]
Keegan’s dedication towards helping his athletes is refreshing. He goes beyond his responsibilities for providing training and passing on his nutritional knowledge, and always encourages us to take charge of our own health and nutrition away from the training environment. His passion is contagious and is always evident whether it be his attendance at workshops or his dedication to his own strength and well being.
I began my paleo experience before meeting Keegan, since working together he has helped me improve my eating habits further which has seen me increase my muscle mass whilst at the same time maintaining my skinfold levels.
I have enjoyed Keegan’s strength programs and I believe I have responded well to the different stimulus he has provided rather than just the standard 6 exercises, 4 sets of 8 reps that i have seen many times before. My Olympic lifting has dramatically improved and he has helped me regain my strength whilst recovering from a shoulder reconstruction.

In my two years working with Keegan at the Catalan Dragons, Keegan transformed my outlook on health and performance and I will be forever grateful to him for this…
[showhide]The thing that impressed me most about Keegan as a coach and mentor is that he lives everything that he teaches and implements in his training/health protocols. Whether that be in nutrition, training or emotional/spiritual guidance. He is always looking for ways to better himself and help others. All those who have been involved or trained underneath Keegan would never doubt his passion for improvement.
Keegan is one of the most dedicated health professionals I have come across. He has opened my eyes to a better way of life and this has had a flow on effect to my family and friends. Initially this was through changing my nutrition plan to a primal diet and then teaching me the importance of overall health on performance and quality of life. Whilst working with Keegan I improved my athletic performance massively, to a level I thought was out of my reach.
Most importantly Keegan does everything from the heart whilst possessing so much knowledge at such a young age. With more experience and experimentation I envisage Keegan being a game changer and leader in the health and fitness industry no matter what direction he chooses to take.
I am watching and reading from a distance now and admiring Keegan’s work with the Sydney Roosters and am sure there are players there that will be having the same kind of experience I had under him at the Dragons (a life changer). This testimonial doesn’t do justice to the impact he has had on me!
I hope to work again with Keegan in the future somewhere along the line, some where in the world, who knows!
Keep up the good work mate.[/showhide]
